Fall Break Trip, Virginia

After staying in Cumberland Gap for 2 nights we packed up and headed to Roanoke, Virginia.  As part of traveling with a young child, I try to make each leg of our journey less than 4 hours.  This was the best place to stop with a couple things to see.  The drive through Virginia (Blue Ridge Parkway) was gorgeous!  It was really the prettiest drive I've ever taken.

We stopped at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, VA.  It is a small museum with a lot to see for young kids.  It takes you through the history of transportation from wagons, to trains, to cars, planes, and space shuttles!  Really cool!

We stayed the night in Roanoke before driving into DC.
We ate dinner close by the museum at Benny Marconi's.  It was just a small pizzeria with 2 kinds of pizza.  But the slices were huge!  Molly loves pizza, so she loved this place.
Next up:  Monticello
