Happy St. Patrick's Day, Friends!

According to legend, each leaf of the clover represents something: the first leaf is for hope, the second leaf is for faith, the third leaf is for love, and the fourth leaf, naturally, is for luck.

I, for one, need some luck this St. Patrick's Day...actually my grandma does. She was rushed to the ER on Sunday afternoon with symptoms of a stroke. After spending 24+ hours in the ICU it appears that it wasn't a stroke (good news), however she is very weak and my family has to make some tough decisions about what her next steps will be. She is 87 years old and very independent! We don't want her independence taken away, however we can't risk her falling and hurting herself either. It is a huge job (physically) to help her get around, get dressed, shower, etc. I'm not sure what this week will bring, but it's not exactly the spring break I had planned. That is ok though, I'm just glad I have the time off to figure this out! Thanks for your prayers!

Amy,
I'm sorry about your grandmother being sick. I will add her to my prayer list. Keep us updated please!

Have you read the news that referrals may speed up? I met with my social worker last week since I have to renew my paperwork for a 3rd time. They are very conservative and she indicated that our person in China indicated that the referrals are speeding up and no one should wait more than 3 1/2 years for their referral. Well they had better hurry on mine since I will be 3 years in July. I don't know how much stock I put in this as I need to guard my heart but it is kinda fun to dream! Take care and try to enjoy your week off.

I'll be praying for your grandma, and for the rest of you as you try to make decisions about her care. (((Hugs)))
