farmers market

oh the wonderful taste of freshly grown fruits and veggies!!
shopping at the farmers market has been on my to do list all summer and i just haven't made it downtown
but, finally last weekend molly and i skipped church on sunday and made a fun day of it!
i've been enjoying the wonderful goodness all week
one night i had fried eggplant sprinkled with parmesean cheese and sliced fresh tomatoes
(i just fired it like you would a green tomatoe)
it was so good
the next night i had fresh corn, red potatoes, cucumber salad, and fresh tomatoes
another dinner was left over potatoes, yellow and green zucchini, and tomatoes

i could live off of tomatoes all summer long if they are ripened perfectly!
they have been so good
and these strawberries....we ate the whole pint right when we got home.
i'll have to go back this weekend to re-stock!

while we were downtown, we had sunday lunch at monell's
they serve classic southern comfort food in a family style
which means you sit at a huge family table and they serve you bowls of each food item that you pass around to each other
it is so southern...they even serve fried chicken for breakfast! ha!
it was delicious and we enjoyed eating with 3 different families at our table including one from australia!

after eating and shopping, we enjoyed some fun play time on the lawn in front of the Tennessee state capitol
it was so hot, but it was a beautiful day
we will have to come back to this location in the fall when it is cooler for some better pictures

I've been a lurker for a while, but I just HAD to come out of hiding today :) Love all your pics...looks like you and Molly are having a fun summer.

I too am a single woman and am very seriously praying about bringing a child into my home through adoption. I'm not completely ready yet, but I'm preparing my finances, home, and life for the possibility of being "Mama" to a little one who needs a home.

I've been reading your blog for a while and just wanted to let you know how much you've inspired me. Thank you so much for sharing your story; it's amazing to see how God blesses those who love and serve Him.
